from:Pre Employment Screening: Finding the Perfect Candidate for the Ideal Job
Pre employment screening is one way of ensuring that the potential candidates, or often referred to as the job hunters, are not just of excellent background but also of safe records. Most employers today are spending much just to refrain from hiring the wrong employees. Many job seekers tend to falsify their records to earn the necessary qualifications on certain position offered. Because of the reliable way on doing pre employment screening, these fraud candidates are kept out of the list.
Now, how does the pre employment screening committee carry out their tasks? Apparently, a series of investigation and research are painstakingly done through modern techniques and valid methods. These may include searching into several sources from private and public records such as those from schools, companies, employers, and government offices that issue public licenses.
Criminal history is one of the most valuable facts that are investigated thoroughly through pre employment screening. Other important details that may be falsified by swindling applicants are their personal profile information. There is always the possibility that an applicant is using somebody’s personal data. The addresses history, driving history, and even credit history are also needed to be considered for the screening.
Pre employment screening, according to employers, may help decrease turnover. Furthermore, this procedure can help them attain a drug-free environment by not including the candidates who have major offense records related to drug abuse. The screening can therefore lead to a worthwhile hiring process that will prevent negligent employing lawsuits. Obviously, through this, there’s a low possibility of having violence in the workplace and not to mention, theft.
Normally, the reason why employers perform or let a certain firm execute the necessary pre employment screening procedures is that their investments should be protected. They are usually taking seriously the threat of crime from entities entering their companies. Some people are however finding the screening methods somewhat discriminating. Most of them are mercilessly charged of crimes that they did not really commit. Hence, their bad civil record, even if they do not deserve to have so, will affect their aspiration to obtain the job they want.
Nevertheless, these job seekers must not lose hope since there are still some employers who eliminate the use of pre employment screening as a standard operating procedure for hiring. These employers may be the small companies, but even at low stature, they can still give a chance for the “discriminated” applicants who can prove their worth though. Jobs are indeed meant for those who deserve them, nevertheless, everybody just have to be the perfect applicant for the ideal job.
